Selecting the right course might be difficult for students who are not yet decided which career path to pursue. Hence, this study’s primary objective was to determine students’ career interest in senior high school in order to better prepare them from college. The researcher used a descriptive research design to investigate the researcher objectives and gain a new understanding of the collected data. The respondents were 250 Senior High School Student of Panitan National High School in school year 2022-2023. The respondents were identified using the stratified random sampling technique. Researchers used an annual survey questionnaire to collect and sum up data on the five factors, using five-point Likert Scale for each one, and analyzing the responses on survey. Results revealed that the factors influencing a student’s decision to enroll in college are financial aid, educational quality, tuition affordability, and environment and culture. The findings imply that the various factors that influence student’s choices are adaptable regardless of their age, gender, or family wealth.

<title>Work-life balance of CAPSU Pontevedra faculty: challenges and solutions</title>

<description>Work-life balance of CAPSU Pontevedra faculty: challenges and solutions

This study examines the demographic profile, work-life balance status among CAPSU Pontevedra faculty, the challenges they encountered, and the solutions or recommendations they made in dealing with their life balance. Data were collected through surveys and analyzed using descriptive research design. The results indicate that a substantial number of respondents are below 30 to 39 years of age, the female is slightly overrepresented in the sample compared to males. Marital-status married individuals constitute a significant proportion of the sample. They have families to care for. Relatively high level of educational attainment among the surveyed respondents, with a focus on advanced degrees at the doctoral and master’s levels. A significant proportion of the respondent has multiple individuals relying on them for financial, emotional, or other forms of support. A substantial number of the respondents have achieved a higher academic rank and are recognized for their expertise and experience in their respective fields. A significant number of respondents are from an agricultural background or have agricultural expertise in agricultural sciences. The respondents generally exhibit a manageable work-life balance in terms of self- management, time management, stress management, and leisure time management. They can manage themselves, their time, stress and leisure activities most of the time, indicating a reasonable work-life balance in their personal and professional lives. The interpretation of sometimes or “manageable” indicates that the faculty perceived their  work-life balance to be satisfactory, although there are variations across different demographic factors. The respondents face several challenges and difficulties in relation to their career choice as high challenging aspects for the respondents. Stress at work, loan prepayment, overall life satisfaction, and limited control over economic decisions and spending are moderately challenging as well. The respondent's recommendations included the importance of prioritizing quality time with family and friends, implementing flexible working hours, and cultivating a supportive work environment. This insight can guide organizations and individuals in their efforts to enhance work-life balance and create a more fulfilling and harmonious integration of personal and professional aspects of life. Further research is warranted to explore the status of work-life balance among CAPSU Pontevedra. Challenges experienced and solutions/recommendations made develop effective strategies, identify improvement areas, and address employees' evolving needs and preferences.

This study aims to assess the level of awareness of the barangay LGUs on the Solid Waste Management program of the Municipality of Pontevedra. The study was conducted from October 2022 to June 2023 at Municipality of Pontevedra, Capiz. The respondents were the barangay officials from selected 17 barangays out of 26 barangays: 13 from Inland Barangays and 4 from Island barangays. They were selected proportionately from the two clusters. It employed quantitative research and utilized descriptive method. Data were gathered through the use of researchers made questionnaire. Pertinent data were obtained thru survey questionnaires. Findings revealed a significant difference in the level of awareness of the barangay LGUs on the solid waste management program when grouped according to geographical location, land area, number of households, and population size. In contrast, there is no significant difference in the level of awareness in terms of classification. Further, the level of respondents' awareness of SWMP according to the various programs, including the segregation, collection, disposal, and waste reduction as perceived by the barangay officials, respectively, resulted in the overall mean score of 4.38 interpreted as “fully aware”. And the statistical tools used were means, percentages, and frequency for descriptive data analysis. For inferential analysis, nonparametric tests were utilized.

The study was conducted to assess the implementation of Community Awareness on Voluntourism Activities in the Municipality of President Roxas, Capiz. It was conducted to determine the demographic profile of the respondents, the level of awareness on the program and its provisions, the contribution of voluntourism in the development and growth of tourism industry and the community, problems identified on the implementation, and the recommendations drawn from the result of the study. The respondents of the study were the 704 local residents in the municipality of President Roxas. They were categorized into four groups namely, students, professionals, barangay officials and out-of-school youth. The data were statistically analyzed using statistical tool such as frequency counts, weighted mean and percentages and subjected to analysis using Statistical Packages for Social Sciences (SPSS). Students are mostly female, single, in high school, having poor economic. The professional respondents, are mostly female, middle aged and average income earners. &#13;
Public servants mostly male, with families, educated, in their mature age having low income. Out of school youth are mostly male, single, graduated high school with minimum income. Respondents are aware about voluntourism and its guidelines. Out of school youths are moderately aware on program objectives while others are aware. The professionals strongly agree on the contribution of voluntourism in the development and growth of the industry whereas other groups synonymously agree. All respondents agree on the problem identified in the implementation of the program. Information dissemination, upgrading and improvement of facilities, inter-agency cooperation with government and private sector support are necessary for the increase in awareness and development of Community Awareness on Voluntourism Activities in the Municipality of President Roxas, Capiz.
