<description>Homeschooling and parental involvement experiences of elementary pupils parents in times of pandemic
Baniel, Dianne B.; Bilangbilang, Michelle F.; Labadero, RB D.
This qualitative-transcendental-phenomenological research aimed to describe the experiences of the of the grade 2 pupils' parents on their parental involvement and homeschooling of their children during pandemic. The study involved the ten (10) parents of the grade 2 pupils at School A in the district of Pontevedra, Capiz who are enrolled in SY 2022-2023. It utilized the validated unstructured interview guide to gather the needed data through one-on-one interview. Data analysis were done using the steps of phenomenology which was patterned from Moustakas's (1994) method of analysis. Results of the study revealed that the participants supported the homeschooling of their children through reading modules to their children; assisting their children in writing their answers; guiding their children in answering the modules; checking the modules; and watching educational videos. The challenges encountered by the participants in the modular distance learning are the excessive use of gadgets and the annoying behavior of their children. Participants balanced their time personally and professionally through focusing and giving time to their children; and inspiring them to learn.

Ballera, Anna May D.; Dumol, Dollie Iony B.
This descriptive research study focused on the elementary teachers’ instructional competence, challenges encountered, coping mechanism and initiated intervention in teaching multigrade classes. The respondents of the study were the ten (10) purposively selected multigrade teachers in Maayon District. A standardized questionnaire was utilized to gather data on the instructional competence of the teachers that includes the content knowledge and pedagogy; learning environment; diversity of learners; curriculum and planning; assessment and reporting; community linkages and professional engagement; personal growth and professional development. A researcher-made questionnaire was utilized on the challenges encountered, coping mechanisms and initiated interventions. Result showed that multigrade teachers teaching multigrade classes have very satisfactory instructional competence. Thus, they exhibited a sensible instructional competence in handling two or more grade levels in just one setting. They encountered varied serious challenges in teaching multigrade classes but found preparing and planning the daily lesson require more time and effort to be a very serious challenge for they find it hard in preparing and making multiple daily plans employing different strategies and methods to cater to the diverse needs of their multigrade classes. Furthermore, the coping mechanisms to address the challenges is evident but the initiated interventions are limited and not enough to address the challenges encountered.

<title>Challenges and coping mechanisms of parents with visually impaired children</title>
<link>https://repository.capsu.edu.ph/handle/123456789/673</link>
<description>Challenges and coping mechanisms of parents with visually impaired children
Claveria, Ryan C.; Castillo, Francis C.; Padasma, Kristine Joy R.
A qualitative-descriptive research design was employed in this study utilizing a phenomenological observation covering the participants who unveiled their experiences about the challenges they encountered and their coping mechanisms in addressing those challenges through informal scheduled interview. This covered 6 participants of parents with visually impaired children who shared their challenges encountered in terms of emotional, financial, educational, social, and orientation and mobility while their coping mechanisms employed are divert focus/no big deal, seeking support, self-learning, helping one another (buliganay) and be prayerful. Thus, Parents are encouraged to exhaust all means in seeking possible supports that would cater to the needs of their children. As the old adage goes; “It takes a village to raise a child”, parents may connect with stakeholders (other parents family members, relatives, friends, teachers, neighbors, professionals, policy makers, religious organizations) as a shared responsibility for providing care and support for their children. Whenever possible, government policies and laws concerning financial and educational supports to children with disabilities may be revisited and reviewed by the law makers and be in full implementation to benefit both parents and children and be a part with other countries in terms of support extended by the government. Moreover, values on positivity and spirituality may be sustained to provide hope and inspiration to parents.
