Effects of Suhot Spring and Cave Resort as a tourist destination on the the quality of life of residents in the community

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effects of Suhot Spring and Cave Resort as tourist destination on the quality of life of residents in the community. This study used narrative research using interview method and it aims to identify and analyze the relationships of the Suhot Spring and Cave Resort as to the quality of life of the residence in the community. This study employed purposive sampling. A sampling technique in which researchers relies on his or her own judgment when choosing members of population to participate in the study. The researchers choose the available residents in Barangay Dolores, Dumalag, Capiz. The researchers used semi-structured questionnaire that will serve as guide during interview, it was open-ended questions so that in-depth information be collected. The questionnaire was composed of eight (8) questions to be answered by residents of Barangay Dolores Dumalag, Capiz. Findings of the study revealed that Suhot Spring and Cave Resort have strongly contributed to the economic, and social well-being of the residents and therefore improved the quality of life of the residents. Moreover, Suhot Spring and Cave Resort is a contributor in boosting the income of the Municipality of Dumalag.
