Effectiveness of Dagway Sigmanahanon, Inc. Facebook page (DSIFBP) as a tool in the promotion and preservation of the local culture

Abstract

This descriptive study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of Dagway Sigmahanon, Inc Facebook Page (DSIFBP) as a tool of promotion and preservation of local culture at Sigma, Capiz. This study was conducted during the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The respondents of the study were the Tourism and Hospitality teachers, municipal tourism officers, and professionals Sigma, Capiz. The data of the study were gathered using a survey questionnaire. The statistical tool used were standard deviation and mean. Generally, findings of the study reveal that the DSIFBP is highly effective tool in promoting and preserving the local culture of Sigmahanon. Moreover, through facebook page of the DSI, the rich local culture of Sigmahanons becomes available for viewing to the public. It boosts local citizen’s pride knowing their beautiful culture. Finally, the younger generation becomes aware of their unique and distinct culture.
