dc.description.abstract | The main purpose of this study was to find out the reading ability of Grade III Special Science Class pupils in Pilar Elementary School. More particularly it aimed to: 1.) determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents when it comes to sex, parents educational attainment, parents occupations, and family monthly gross income; 2.) determine the reading ability of Grade III Special Science Class pupils in Pilar Elementary School, and 3.) determine the reading ability of Grade III Special Science Class pupils in terms of word reading and comprehension; The respondents of the study were the 34 Grade III pupils who were selected from SSC class. The PhillRI tool were used was to collect data from the respondents and were made up of three parts. Part one was called for information about socio-demographic profile of the respondents. Part two was a test to measure reading ability adopted. From Philippine Informal Inventory (PhilIRI). Part three dealt with reading ability of grade III Special Science Class pupils in terms of word reading and comprehension. Frequency count and percentage were utilized to analyze the data gathering. Based on the findings of the, majority of the pupils were female with parents who are degree holders earning minimal of a Php 15, 0001-19, 999 as drivers and housewives. Furthermore, majority of the respondents were instructional readers when it comes to their word reading, comprehension and reading ability. | en |
