dc.description.abstractThis study entitled "Attitude and Knowledge in English Grammar of Freshmen Education Students of Capiz State University Burias Campus" was conducted at Capiz State University Burias Campus during first semester of the academic year 2022-2023 to determine the personal profile in terms of sex, year level, and parents' educational attainment; to determine the level of attitude towards English grammar of the respondents as a whole and when grouped according to profile variables; to find out the respondents’ level of knowledge of English grammar as a whole and when grouped according to profile variables; to determine the significant differences in the respondents’ level of attitude and knowledge of English grammar when grouped according to sex, course pursued, and parents’ educational attainment; to determine if there is a significant relationship between the respondents’ attitude and knowledge of English grammar. A population of 135 students from all specializations served as respondents of the study. A survey-questionnaire composed of three parts was used to gather data which were then statistically analyzed using frequency counts, percentages, means, T-test, standard deviation, and Pearson r. Data revealed that majority of the respondents were females. Majority of the respondents came from English, followed by BPED, Filipino, Soc Stud, Science, and Math. Most of the respondents’ mother studied high school. Most of the respondents’ father studied either high school or elementary level. Further, results revealed that the respondents had a favorable attitude towards English grammar. Findings also manifested that the respondents had a high level of knowledge in English grammar. Lastly, attitude and knowledge in English grammar were significantly related to each other.en
