Effectiveness of police patrol operation in Roxas City, Capiz
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of police patrol operation in Roxas City, Capiz as perceived by the barangay chairmen and SK chairmen for calendar year 2021-2022. Specifically, survey questionnaire was used to gather significant data. Roxas City, Capiz was the place where the study was conducted during the second semester of school year 2022-2023, using 94 barangay chairmen and SK chairmen as respondents. Descriptive correlational type of research utilizing a survey questionnaire was used to gather the needed data. The questionnaire was composed of two parts which intended to gather the following: The socio-demographic profile of the respondents, and the level of effectiveness of police patrol operation in the Roxas City, Capiz. Data were tabulated and analyzed using the descriptive statistical tools such as frequency count, mean, percentage, and t-test. Results indicated that most of the respondents 45 (59.2%) were males, aging 20-29 years and below, and single. While the barangay chairmen and SK chairmen were the same in numbers. The police patrol operation in Roxas City Capiz was “effective” as the overall assessment by the barangay chairmen and SK chairmen as the respondents. There was no significant difference in the level of effectiveness of police patrol operation in Roxas City, Capiz in terms of respondent’s category.
