    Abstract
This research study aims to analyze and identify the social issues portrayed in F. Sionil Jose's novel "Ermita." The investigation was conducted at Capiz State University - Mambusao Satellite College during the academic year 2022-2023. The study's primary objectives were to determine the social issues revealed in the novel and analyze their implications for Philippine society. Through a thorough examination of the text, the researchers discovered social issues including poverty, prostitution, sexual violence, graft and corruption, abuse of power, and rebellion. These issues were found to perpetuate systemic inequality and oppression, shedding light on the deep-rooted class struggles shaping the characters' lives and experiences. This study underscores the urgency of addressing these social issues to foster a more just and equitable society in the Philippines.
