Growth and yield performance of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) applied with different amounts of swine manure
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the growth and yield performance of eggplant applied with different amount of swine manure at Sitio Bughaan, Dulangan, Pilar, Capiz form February 23 to May 24, 2023.
A total of 228 sample plant were used in study and randomly distributed to 12plots. The experiment used a randomized complete block design. The data were statistically analyzed using Statistics version 8.1 and the significant differences among treatment means were declared at a 0.05 using Tukey`s honest significant difference (HSD) test.
There was no significant difference in the growth performance of eggplant in terms of plant height at 45, 60, 75, and 90 DAT; number of leaves at 15, 60, 75, and 90 DAT; number of lateral branches at 60, 75, and 90 DAT; and number of days from transplanting to flowering using different amount of swine manure. The number and weight of marketable and non-marketable fruits per sample plant at the first, second, and third harvest, shows no significant difference in the yield performance of eggplant and the number of days from transplanting to maturity, showed a significant effect.
