Factors affecting absenteeism among the senior high school students of Cabug Cabug National High School
Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine The Factors Affecting Absenteeism Among the Senior High School Student of Cabug Cabug National High School. Specifically, it sought to find out: 1.) The socio-demographic profile of the respondents and the 2.) Factors Affecting Absenteeism among the Senior High School Student of Cabug Cabug National High School. This study was conducted in Cabug Cabug National High School (Senior High School). A total of two hundred fifty (250) respondents, one hundred thirty (130) from Grade 11 and One hundred twenty (120) from Grade 12. The questionnaires were distributed to gather the pertinent data. Frequency counts and percentage were the statistical tools used in analyzing the results. Results showed that most of the respondents were female, belonging to age bracket 17-18 years old from Grade 11, with mothers who are High school graduate and housekeepers, fathers who are elementary level and labourer with a monthly income of Php. 5, 000 and below. Findings also revealed that the factors affect the students absenteeism was: the house is too far from school and health related issues such as toothache, stomach ache, headache, and fever/flu.
