    Abstract
    This study was conducted to determine the vocabulary expansion and text comprehension of the grade 6 pupils of Dulangan Pilar, Capiz. Specially, it aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of respondents in terms of sex, section, parent’s educational attainment, and parents estimated monthly income; determine the level of their vocabulary expansion of the respondents; determine the level of their text comprehension of the respondents; determine if there is a significant relationship between the vocabulary and text comprehension.

    Results of the study showed respondents were mostly females. The frequency, percentage, and mean were utilized to determine the level of the vocabulary expansion and text comprehension of the grade 6 pupils.

    The researchers made a face validated questionnaires were adapted to find out the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, vocabulary expansion and text comprehension. The results of the extent of their vocabulary expansion was competent. There is a significant relationship between the vocabulary expansion and text comprehension of the pupils. There is still a need for improvement of pupils on their vocabulary expansion and text comprehension.
