Academic performance of Bachelor of Elementary Education student during Covid-19
Abstract
This study aimed to determine the academic performance of the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) students of Capiz State University Pilar campus during Covid-19 pandemic. This study used the descriptive-correlation method research to determine variable associated with each other specifically in the academic performance in terms of general education and professional education. The respondents had a total population of 43 and they were officially enrolled in academic year 2019-2022. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather profile of the respondents and the secondary data which was their academic grades were also collected, the data were analyzed and interpreted using the frequency, percentage, t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA). The level of academic grade of the respondents was determined using the equivalent grade, and corresponding descripted grade interpretation. Based on the results, the majority of the respondents was dominated by females was comparatively 22 years old and below. The study revealed that respondents were very good in their academic performance as a whole. There were significant differences in the academic performance when they was grouped according to the parents educational attainment, and parent`s monthly income. Furthermore, this study recommends that the teachers in this institution may thoroughly identify the needs and interest of their students so they may design any activities suited to their students.
