Environmental practices of DOT accredited hotels in Roxas City
Abstract
The primary objective of this study was to determine the environmental practices of hotels in Roxas City in terms of water, energy and waste, and whether there is a significant difference in the environmental practices of these hotels in terms of water, energy and waste. The instrument used in gathering data was a survey questionnaire for environmental practices. The respondents of the study were the 90 hotel staff of DOT accredited hotels in Roxas, City. To analyze the data, frequency count, mean, percentage, and ranking were used. Among the five selected hotels, data showed that Hotel C always practiced the implementation of environmental practices in terms of water. In terms of energy, the implementation of environmental practices findings revealed that Hotel C also has always practiced. In terms of waste management, Hotel C has obtained always practiced in the implementation of environmental practices. This means that Hotel C has implemented proper disposal and management of wastes in the different departments of the hotel. Further, they also engaged in recycling procedures of their materials as this would reduce their waste and be able to save hotel resources.
