Netiquette of BS-Social Work students during online classes of Capiz State University Pilar campus
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents. Most particularly it sought to determine; 1.) What are the netiquette of BSSW students during online classes as observed by students and faculty; and 2.) Is there a significant difference on the faculty and student netiquette? This study involved (30) respondents using Universal Sampling Technique. A purposive sampling technique was used to identify the individual respondents. The respondent underwent a survey questionnaire in gathering data. It was composed of two parts. Part 1 was to find out the profile of the respondents. Part 2 was to find out netiquette of BSSW students during online classes. The results of the study were compute and analyzed statistical with the use of percentage. Results revealed that the student`s respondents strongly agreed on the following statement on netiquette during online classes. Students notify their professor when he or she is absent or cannot attend the online class, the students are polite and friendly by addressing others by name or appropriate title, and they watching their tone, Even as a joke, student avoid writing anything that sound angry or sarcastic, When chatting to the professor my first student always present themselves well and keep thing brief.
Result revealed that the faculty respondents strongly agreed on the following statement on student`s netiquette during online classes. The students practiced being respectful by respecting privacy and diversity or opinions that differ from their own, the students say "Goodbye And Thank you " to the professor when the online classes ends, The students write legibly in black font and avoid using emoticon or emoji`s, The student work scholarly skills by using proper grammar, spelling, and explanation, and during online class student must avoid falling asleep. On another account, there is no significant difference on the netiquette of faculty and students of the BS-social Work Student of Capiz State University Pilar Campus.
