    Abstract
The purpose of the study was to find out the effect of the usage of graphic organizers in teaching Grade 6 Araling Panlipunan employing quasi-experimental research pre-test post test control group design. The two groups, the traditional learning group and the graphic organizers learning group were utilized in the study. Specifically, it aimed to investigate on the performance of the pre-test and post test of traditional learning group; the performance of the pre-test and post test of graphic organizers learning group; the difference between the pre-test and the post test performance of the traditional learning group; the difference between the pre-test and post test performance of the graphic organizers learning group; the difference between the traditional learning group and the graphic organizers learning group in the pre-test performances; the difference between the post test performance of the traditional learning group and of the graphic organizers learning group. The investigation revealed that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and posttest performances of traditional learning group and the graphic organizers learning group; the graphic organizers learning group performed better than the traditional learning group in pre-test and post test performance; and that there is a significant difference in the post test performance of the traditional learning group and graphic organizers learning group. This implies that: the use of graphic organizers is more effective in the teaching of Araling Panlipunan than the conventional teaching strategy. This implies that the Araling Panlipunan performance of Grade 6 pupils who were taught using the conventional instruction was developing and there was no improvement because they were not expose to the intervention; and the performance of Grade 6 pupils in the Araling Panlipunan who were taught using the graphic organizers improved from developing to proficient after the intervention because they are expose to graphic organizers. This indicates that the use of graphic organizers is more effective in teaching Araling Panlipunan subject than the usage of the conventional method.
