Stress and Mental Health Factors on Academic Performance of BSBA Students
Abstract
This study was conducted to determine how stress and mental health issues can hinder a student's ability to learn. Given the increasing reports of such issues among college students, it is crucial to understand how to best support this population and help them succeed. Studies have shown that stress and mental health concerns can negatively impact a student's academic success and degree persistence. In fact, some students develop a nonchalant attitude towards their studies or even give up hope due to stress. Despite these challenges, students have always found ways to cope with life events and stressors. To better serve this growing population, we can embed support mechanisms within the classroom and incorporate learning opportunities for all students. Stress can have a detrimental effect on students, potentially leading to a variety of stress-linked disorders. However, there are coping techniques that students can use to manage stress effectively. By adopting these techniques, students can increase their chances of achieving their desired academic results.
