Computer Knowledge and Skills of BEEd Students: An assessment
Abstract
The principal purpose of this study was to find out the computer knowledge and skills of BEEd students: an assessment, A.Y. 2023-2024. More specifically it aimed to socio demographic profile of the respondents, level of computer knowledge and level of computer skills of BEEd students. The study was conducted at Capiz State University Pilar Satellite College. Pilar, Capiz on 2024. The respondents involved 50 students who were randomly selected. They were selected using the stratified random sampling techniques. The questionnaire was the survey instrument used in data collection. Frequency counts percent, mean, standard deviation, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis Test were the statistical tools used to analyse the data gathered. The majority of the respondents were female and most of them were fourth year. Most of them were had small family monthly income and most of them were had no family business related to computer. Majority of the respondents were at 21-22 years old. All of them had no family businesses related to computer. BEEd students were always in social media, keyboarding skills and Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint, respondents were expert user. Also, BEEd students were frequently in graphic design and presentation using projector, respondents were competent user. On a daily basis they use computer to master their knowledge and skills on keyboarding, Microsoft word, excel and PowerPoint, graphic design, social media and presentation using projector.
