    Abstract
Historically, ladies in the Philippines used manual laundry methods, such as pounding on rocks or using laundry stones to clean clothing. However, by the early 1980s, laundry was done manually by “labanderas” who used metal washtubs filled with water and laundry soap. This method was faster but labor intensive. In 1987, Royal Clean introduced a kilo service using laundry machines from the USA in the Philippines. Although cheaper, labenderas service was less popular due to inconsistent service quality and potential damage to clothes. Today, laundromats offer full-service and self-service laundry services, with the time taken from a full day to less than three hours. Royal Clean founders studied at the International Fabricare Institute in the USA to specialize in dry cleaning, becoming the only graduates of the Advanced Dry-Cleaning course in the Philippines (Royal Clean, 2023). This study investigates a local laundry shop in Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz, looking at its services, customers, hours, location, and technology. Limitations include the exclusive focus on this location and timeframe, along with potential external influences. The objectives of this study are to evaluate the feasibility of running a laundry shop business in terms of location, equipment, and workforce; and to determine there is sufficient demand for laundry in Wilson Street, Brgy. Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz. The respondents of this study are the owners of established laundry shops in the vicinity of Pilar, Capiz.
