Effectiveness of gadgets in academic performance and personal life among BEED Students

Abstract
The principal purpose of this study was to find out the Effectiveness of Gadgets among BEED Learners of Capiz State University Pilar Satellite College, A.Y. 2023-2024. More specifically it aimed to determine the socio-demographic profile of the respondents, to determine the effectiveness of gadgets among BEED learners in terms of their academic performance and personal life. The study was conducted at Capiz State University Pilar Satellite College, Natividad, Pilar, Capiz on March 2024. The respondents involved 179 BEED students. They were selected by using random sampling. The questionnaire was the survey instrument used in data collection. Frequency counts percent and mean were the statistical tools used to analyze the data gathered. Findings concluded that, there were 86 (or 48.00%) BEEd students who were ageing 21-22 years old. Out of 179 respondents of this study, there were 152 (or 84.90%) female and 27 (or 15.10%) male BEEd students. Thus, female students outnumbered male students in this study. Among the students from the different year levels, most of the respondents were fourth year. Almost all (178 out of 179 or 99.40%) respondents in this study had their personal phone. Only one (1 or 0.60%) has personal laptop or computer. The results showed that students find the use of gadgets to academic performance as very effective, in terms with the use of gadgets to academic performance of BEED students were exemplified on communicating with their peers about group activities, with a mean score of 3.70. Majority of respondents found the use of gadget to personal life as very effective for keeping them connected with friends and family with a mean score of 3.66. Findings revealed that, there was a strong, positive correlation between effectiveness of use of gadget to academic performance and personal life of students. Positive means that as one variable increases, the other tends to increase as well. Strong means the relationship of variables is substantial.
